The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Officer E & I to join our Operations team in Dalby on a full time basis on a 12/9 roster.

Reporting to the Team Leader, South East Qld, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, reliability and improvement of process control, plant and high-pressure transmission pipeline systems and supporting infrastructure to meet customer requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and carry out routine and non-routine maintenance for pipeline systems, compressor stations, meter stations, pressure reduction facilities, scraper stations and laterals and associated plant in accordance with procedures to meet KPIs and contractual obligations
  • Install, commission, test, calibrate, monitor, fault find and diagnose, repair, maintain, overhaul and service simple to complex process control, maintain mechanical plant and equipment to enhance equipment reliability and performance
  • Achieve maintenance and reliability work objectives by carrying out all maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Undertake problem solving in the rectification of system faults, utilising historical data and complex testing equipment to diagnose and formulate solutions to technical issues recommending cost effective system and predicative and proactive maintenance improvements to improve equipment reliability, maintenance processes and to meet customer requirements
  • Provide reliable data, equipment histories and reports for analysis and review, providing accurate and effective documentation for APA’s programmed and proactive maintenance programs

Your background

  • Significant work experience in Oil & Gas or related industry is highly desirable
  • Electrical trade qualification or equivalent experience in transmission gas pipelines is preferred
  • Experience in compression and associated equipment
  • Ability to program, install and commission process control equipment and detailed understanding of operating conditions is preferred
  • A self-starter, keen to give 100% at all times and a strong team player
  • Extremely comfortable working autonomously in remote locations for several business days at a time

About the Team


The SEQ team covers an area from Wallumbilla near Roma, to the port of Brisbane, looking after Gas Transmission, Midstream Gas Production and Renewable Energy Generation assets.

We have a combination of Electrical, Mechanical and Civil trade backgrounds, with a cultural diversity amongst the team.

Our stations and office facilities are located at strategic sites and show a real sense of ownership by the team.

The maintenance and project work carried out by the team is diverse and underpins the reliability of the asset for our customers.
