About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, based in Osborne, SA, you will support an experienced team with the delivery of strategic procurement and sourcing activities within allocated portfolios.

This role is undertaken in a dynamic and complex environment where customer service, risk management and obtaining value-for-money outcomes are paramount. Solid relationship management skills through coordination and liaison is required with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the procurement process is understood, applied into day-to-day operations and in accordance with current best practice and ASCs corporate governance framework.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the implementation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategies and sourcing plans that achieve ASC’s procurement goals and objectives.
  • Execution of full cycle low/medium risk strategic procurements (as assigned by the Procurement Manager).
  • Support sourcing and contract management activities, including supplier’s qualification and management, across key procurement categories.
  • Validation of demands and predicted spend with respect to Project requirements to inform strategies, sourcing and contract management.
  • Administer purchase order deliverables and process vendor claims for payment.
  • Develop savings and other initiatives to improve overall efficiencies that demonstrate value for money, sustainable decisions and support continuous improvement objectives.
  • Ensure the execution and maintenance of safe working practices and take reasonable care to protect own and others health and safety and comply with all OHS&E policies, procedures and legislation.

Skills & Experiences

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant Procurement role within the defence, manufacturing or resource sector.
  • Good understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, contracts law, risk management and best practices.
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Stakeholder and Supplier management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong skills in MRP systems (IFS desirable) and Microsoft Office products

Desirable

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, supply chain, law or engineering
  • Membership of, or eligibility for membership of, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Australia
  • International procurement experience

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and might require an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
