Your role

The Manager, External Engineering Engagement, will be responsible for external engineering engagement between CSL and Jumar Biotech Incubator and Bio21 facilities. You will manage the engineering interface between the Jumar and Bio21 facilities and CSL where process/plant engineering services, SAP PM master data, engineering compliance, drafting and other critical engineering activities overlap.

You will provide management to maintain facilities, systems, and infrastructure that support the Jumar and Bio21 facilities.

This role will also include management of contingent staff and contractors to provide services to the CSL Melbourne facility.

Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Director, Building Operations & Services you will:

  • Assess new Jumar residents against CSL building criteria, including recommending modification to tenancy conditions
  • Provide reports and updates to CSL’s SVP Head of Research and the Jumar Bioincubator Limited Board (CSL, WEHI and University of Melbourne)
  • Risk assessment of the impact of new tenants or changes in tenants
  • Manage training of Operators on engineering systems (e.g. cryostore, alarm management, on-call, gases), including maintaining training records
  • Maintenance planning, scheduling and management for CSL managed equipment and systems
  • Ongoing reporting for budget and forecasts that impact Building Operations & Services and R&D budgets
  • Engineering compliance management, including engineering change control and deviation management
  • Maintain good working relationships with relevant regulatory industry bodies, suppliers and internal/external customers and present expert information on facility support processes to auditors
  • Some working hour flexibility is needed with a requirement for periods of occasional overtime/weekend work

Your experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering or related field)
  • At least 8 years relevant industry experience
  • Excellent knowledge of change control and deviation management, including being skilled in technical writing
  • Knowledge of GLP, GMP and ICH guidelines would be an advantage
  • Knowledge in data integrity and engineering compliance
  • Experience handling many projects simultaneously and integrating project planning efforts
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to inspire others
