About the role

We are in scaling phase (with start-up vibes minus the investors and debt) and are on the hunt for an experienced Engineering Manager to join us. With our technical team encompassing more than 50% of our whole business, the investment into the our products and our people continues.

  • You will manage multiple teams within engineering
  • You will be a confident and proficient technical leader as well as people manager.
  • You will have a proven track record of delivering large initiatives, you will own the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of team-owned projects and goals.
  • Drawing from detailed technical expertise, you will mentor other managers and engineers.
  • You will promote working in collaborative environments where ideas are converted into tangible outcomes. You will mentor and support your team helping them to meet and where possible, exceed expectations whilst holding them and yourself to account.

About You

  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years as a manager.
  • 2+ years as a manager of managers.
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and own technical initiatives and make strategic decisions to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities, and companywide change
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
  • You deeply understand the platforms and libraries you use.
  • Your CV is full of achievements you are proud of.
  • You are concise, clear, and courteous in your communication.
  • You are curious and innovative.
  • You are a brilliant people leader, who can inspire teams, and support growth.
  • You take calculated risks and are not afraid of failure.

Technical skills

  • C# or Java (C# preferred).
  • TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, or similar relational databases.
  • Any of the cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud (Azure strongly preferred).
  • Bonus: Python, R, Rust, Node.js exposure.
