Job Description

Experian Marketing Services is a global leader in providing data-driven marketing solutions, and manage large and comprehensive databases containing geographic, demographic, lifestyle and attitudinal information on the Australian population. We empower businesses to make informed decisions, enhance customer relationships, and drive measurable results through our innovative segmentation data and analytics solutions. Experian Marketing Services is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne. As a Business Development Manager, you will focus on selling Experian's leading segmentation and analytics solution into the Not-for-Profit, Sporting Clubs & Associations, and Retail verticals helping them better understand who their consumers are, how to better engage with them, and solve business critical objectives such as reducing debt, growing market share, and creating a better customer experience.

What you’ll need to bring to the role & Experian

  • A relentless drive to exceed targets and achieve business development objectives.
  • Ability to book 15 new business and 10 follow up meetings per month.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  • Eagerness to continuously enhance sales skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving market trends and client needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to tailor solutions and streamline the sales process.
  • Demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges, rejections, and changing market dynamics.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented mindset in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Work that matters - What you’ll be doing

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the NFP, Education, and Retail verticals, addressing their unique challenges and needs and intelligently prospect for new potential clients.
  • Embrace and apply SPIN and STONGMAN sales methodologies to enhance your sales effectiveness.
  • Engage in weekly meetings with your team and Regional Sales Manager to discuss progress, share insights, and strategize for success.
  • Independently manage your clients and become a Trusted Advisor and Subject Matter Expert.
  • Manage own performance and take responsibility for self-development in line with personal and Company objectives.

Qualifications

More about you

  • This role would suit someone with 1-3 years’ B2B sales experience and with some exposure to enterprise software sales would be a bonus.
  • You’re a self-starter, confident in lead generation, attending meetings and receiving feedback.
  • You are agile in every conversation and curious in your questioning to understand client challenges, requirements and opportunities.
  • You demonstrate 5 key attributes: intellect, drive, resilience, curiosity and a hunter sales mentality.
  • You have an interest in data and its applications to help businesses.
  • You have a strong cultural fit to Experian.
