About the opportunity
The Inductions & Security Coordinator assists in the management of Port of Newcastle’s (PON) Security function. The Inductions & Security Coordinator will have carriage of Port of Newcastle’s day-to-day Inductions & Security activities with minimal supervision in these areas and provide significant input at a strategic level.

The Inductions & Security Coordinator provides Contractor Management and Port Access System Coordination, and Port Security Support functions.

The Inductions & Security Coordinator also assists in the achievement of the Marine & Operations Division target outcomes.

This is a fixed term, fulltime position, running for approximately 12 months. Ideally, this position will commence in mid-March. This role is highly people-oriented, and is technical process heavy.

About you
In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in providing Contractor Management Coordination in a customer-focused organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the implementation of the WHS Act.
  • Demonstrated operational understanding of Industrial and/or Maritime Environments
  • Demonstrated ability to understand task requirements quickly, taking the initiative and seizing opportunities and able to work independently
  • Effective and efficient coordinator who is able to prioritise workloads and deal with a broad range of activities.
  • Track record in successfully and effectively developing and maintaining relations with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and graphics packages.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills

Special consideration will be given to applicants who have:

  • Understanding of Port Security regulatory environment.
