As the Engineering Digital Environment Manager, you play a pivotal role in shaping the technical landscape of the RDA Engineering development environment and managing our framework for managing, capturing and providing an engineering ecosystem This multifaceted role is anchored in two strategic pillars.

Firstly, you will liaise with Rheinmetall entities worldwide to coordinate data sharing and technology transfer initiatives, ensuring a seamless global exchange of critical information. Secondly, your focus will center on the core technical and engineering tools, aiming to fortify and advance our tool landscape.

As Engineering Digital Environment Manager, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Act as the go-to expert for PDM/NX and engineering development environment and toolset, offering guidance and support to users;
  • Lead the coordination of data import/export, ensuring secure and compliant data transfer between Rheinmetall entities;
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with Engineering Management, IT stream leads, and stakeholders;
  • Develop and maintain the TIM Strategy, ensuring compliance, avoiding data duplication, and establishing a single source of truth;
  • Oversee data exchange processes and serve as the business owner for engineering information exchange tools and systems;
  • Monitor and analyse information system performance, identifying opportunities for enhancement and digitalisation;
  • Identify and manage risks, implementing robust configuration management controls in alignment with information management goals; and
  • Collaborate with project teams, developing and maintaining master data maps and requirements for optimal information management.

About your new team

Located at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, our engineering team support our Vehicle Systems division. You support configuration management across all our variants for Land 400 Phase 2. This is a rare chance to join a collaborative team of engineers, technical specialists and analysts. The Configuration Controller is responsible for establishing and maintaining the configuration management (CM) environment, policy and procedure guidelines, CM planning, reporting and audits across our programs.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Management, IT, Engineering, Business or a related discipline;
  • Extensive experience in managing data in quality, accuracy and integrity;
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.);
  • Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies;
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Experience with document and configuration management and release processes;
  • Sound knowledge of information management domain;
  • Strong decision-making capability, along with ability to work autonomously;
  • Demonstrate flexibility, proven organisational skills and ability to balance priorities;
  • Ability to drive, influence and implement changing work practices and behaviour with demonstrable passion for continuous improvement;
  • Excellent Interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
