You will be a valuable member of the Electronic Solutions service team. You will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and rework of Electronics Equipment based at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence site.

As the Service and Support Technician, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Independent fault finding and troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, optical) on complex electronic systems;
  • Maintenance of Rheinmetall designed components;
  • Documentation of conducted work packages;
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to Rheinmetall Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Communication with multiple and varied engineering authorities for repairs;
  • Support in developing solutions for mechanical/electrical/optical issues;
  • Assist in creation of maintenance and support concepts;
  • Advise management regarding technical issues and further development areas;
  • Conduct software integration or updates on component or system Level; and
  • Support in creating calculation and breakdowns for offers.

About your new team

The Electronics Solutions team is part of the globally integrated team who work closely together to manage the program execution of the LAND 400 Phase 2 Contract with the Commonwealth of Australia, and assist with the capture of export markets in the Asia Pacific region. You will be working from the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Ipswich.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Extensive hands on experience in Electronics/ Optics Production/Service workshop environment;
  • Certificate IV in Electronics/Avionics;
  • Experience in the Defence industry;
  • Experience in the use of electrical and optical test equipment;
  • Understand generic electrical architecture (AC/DC), system integration (Analogue and Digital) and Defence electronics systems;
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with tight deadlines;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products;
  • The ability to relate generic electronics knowledge to unfamiliar systems for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to write work instructions;
  • Ability and willingness to conduct business trips on request; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
