The EVM Cost Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the project cost / progress reporting and Earned Value Management analysis, supporting projects such as L400 and Heavy Weapons Carrier as a part of the Project Management Office team. This includes ensuring schedule and budget adherence through planning, coordination and support of all aspects of the interdepartmental and cross functional project(s).

As the EVM Cost Analyst you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Maintenance of Contract Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) including analysis and reporting on variances to the baselined schedules;
  • Provide expertise to the project team in the use of the cost and schedule tools including Open Plan Professional (OPP), Microsoft Project and Cobra;
  • Provide support in Earned Value Management (EVM) i.e. EVM project reporting and analysis data to the Project Team and the customer;
  • Assist with development and analysis of the regular EAC (Estimate at Completion) reporting cycles, including providing expert guidance to stakeholders;
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the standard for EVM practices, including configuration of tools;
  • Assist in the collation of the monthly and quarterly Earned Value Performance Report (EVPR) to stakeholders;
  • Monitor, analyse and report on Subcontractor EVM in support of Project Team;
  • Liaise with Finance Project Controllers to improve processes related to project cost capture and reporting; and
  • Compile and maintain the Contract Work Breakdown Structures (CWBS).

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience in Project Controls/Cost Analysis;
  • Extensive experience in cost scheduling, project controls, contracts management, risk management, performance reporting or scheduling;
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite (Excel and Word);
  • Experience with Scheduling Software (MS Project or Open Plan Professional);
  • High level of experience with Cost Control Software (SAP or Cobra);
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally (Germany) when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
