        Reporting to Customer Services Managers, could you be our next Services Officer?

        About the role

        The Services Officer is a permanent, part-time position based out of Kyneton station.

        The role has you working at Kyneton station, where you will deliver the best possible service to customers travelling on V/Line services while supporting safety on and around the rail. You may also be required to work out of other stations along the Northern line based on rostering and organisational requirements.

        In this work, you will:

          Gain a Certificate 3 in Rail Customer Operations

            Communicate accurate and timely information to customers, ensuring coach replacements are organised where required

              Complete ticket sales, cash handling and seat reservations

                Balance the till

                  Complete Conductor bags

                    Identify and report safety hazards or incidents

                      Take pride in, and maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the station and its facilities

                        Ensure safety on and around the station, for customers, colleagues, and yourself

                        This is a permanent, part-time role with a rotating roster that includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, & public holidays. There will also be opportunities to pick up additional hours.

                        In the first fortnight, you will work 6 shifts equivalent to 48 hours, while in the second fortnight, you will work 5 shifts totalling 40 hours.

                        Essential

                          Successful completion of Year 10 (minimum)

                            Victorian Driver Licence

                              Willingness & ability to travel to other stations, to provide service along the line

                                Availability to work a 24/7 roster & overtime

                                  Previous face-to-face customer service experience and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety

                                    Cash handling experience

                                    About you

                                    Previous experience in face-to-face customer service and an operational environment is an advantage. So is having good situational awareness along with demonstrating that you value safety and make it a key workplace priority.

                                    Previous experience in rail or transport would be ideal. Or, you may have a background in hospitality, retail, supply, manufacturing, care work, or any profession that values safety equally with service.

                                                  This position is classified as a TRAINEE STATION STAFF ($26.3917) whilst completing a Certificate 3 in Rail Customer Operations for 4-6 weeks. Upon successful completion of the training, the position is then classified as a STN OFF C1 ($39.6386) in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019.
