Join Windlab’s construction team and play a pivotal role in delivering Gawara Baya, leading-practice wind energy project located near Mount Fox, 65km south-west of Ingham, and 180km north-west of Townsville.


Gawara Baya will be the first renewable energy project in Australia to be delivered with a robust and measurable program for achieving a net-gain for regional biodiversity.


The project will create around 300 construction jobs and inject more than $200 million into the regional economy through local employment, supply and contracting opportunities.


Gawara Baya is an early-transition, large-scale generation opportunity that can be grid connected via existing transmission infrastructure and producing 400MW of low-cost clean energy for Queensland homes and businesses by 2027.

Development of Gawara Baya is nearing the construction phase, with early works underway.

About the Role

As a key leader within the senior project team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and overseeing the delivery of Windlab projects. From the late-stage development phase, construction, and hand over to Asset Management, you will lead a high performing team of professionals across various fields from electrical, civil, turbines and more. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for managing design aspects and collaborating with contractors using a split EPC model.

You’ll wear multiple hats in a rewarding career in a team that blends contractor management, health and safety, environment management, compliance, stakeholder engagement and more.

As a pivotal figure in our organization, you will spearhead the delivery of groundbreaking Windlab projects, guiding them from conception to completion with unrivaled expertise.


As a seasoned project management professional with experience in large-scale renewable energy projects, you understand the importance of collaboration and team dedication. Your track record of success in representing the Principal or EPC contractor is testament to your ability to navigate complex project landscapes with finesse.


Your technical understanding of the electrical industry and commercial contract management makes you a key member of any construction project team. Your strategic insights and meticulous attention to detail ensure seamless project execution, even in the face of challenges.

Your outstanding communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders ensure project excellence. Whether liaising with contractors, engaging with regulatory bodies, or fostering relationships with local communities, your ability to effectively communicate and build consensus sets you apart.

Skills/Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years Project Management experience in delivering complex large scale projects/multimillion dollar.
  • Experience in managing complex major contracts, variation and extension of time claims is essential for this role.
  • Ability to lead a successful project and construction team.
  • Comprehensive theoretical and technical knowledge across project management, design management, planning, cost management within the renewable energy sector, ideally Windfarms
