The Opportunity


This opportunity will see you join UGL, whereas a key member of a highly experienced team within the Utilities business you will work on projects within the Power and Water infrastructure sector.


UGL Utilities team are currently looking for a Construction Manager for a high a high voltage transmission line project between Kidston and Mt Fox. The position will be based on site on a 3\:1 roster.


About the role


Some key responsibilities of this role will include\:

  • Direct and control off site construction activities on project to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met
  • Interface with engineering, procurement, commercial, quality, material handle and expediting logistic functions to ensure construction activities can take place immediately once on site
  • Direct and control off site transmission construction activities on project to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
  • Maintain seamless liaison between Engineering, Quality, and document control between all on and off-site project activities
  • Liaise directly with client to maintain high level customer service relationships


To be successful you will require

  • A minimum of 5 years’ industrial/commercial construction experience working on linear projects.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of people
  • Knowledge of OHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards as they apply to the construction industry
  • Strong background dealing with contractor organisations and enforcing compliance with HSEQ performance measures
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to accident/incident investigations, risk assessments and hazard and injury management processes.
  • Proven commercial acumen working for a principal contracting business
