Career growth at EDL

Kristan Kretzmann never imagined her background in admin and legal support would lead to a global management role in energy. But with the right support, she’s turned curiosity into a fulfilling career.

Before joining EDL, Kristan built her skills across legal, real estate, and stockbroking sectors. Each role helped her sharpen her communication, organisation, and people skills.

“Those experiences gave me the confidence to explore new opportunities and step outside my comfort zone. That mindset ultimately led me to EDL,” Kristan explains.

Her journey at EDL began in 2014 as an Administration Officer in the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team. From there, she took on a secondment in Human Resources, then moved into more technical roles within the HSE Systems and Training teams. In 2024, she stepped into her current role as Global HSE Systems Manager – Technical.

Throughout this journey, Kristan credits EDL’s commitment to growth and trust in her potential.

“EDL consistently provided opportunities to expand my knowledge through training, mentoring, and new challenges. It’s incredibly motivating to be part of an organisation that values its people,” she shares.

One of Kristan’s proudest achievements is her career progression—from early admin roles to global leadership. She’s always been willing to put her hand up and embrace new challenges.

Her journey also includes navigating a major personal milestone: becoming a mother and raising her daughter as a single parent. EDL’s flexibility has been essential.

“Being able to attend my daughter’s school events and support her while progressing in my career has been invaluable. It’s not just about flexibility, it’s about being part of a culture that genuinely supports people,” Kristan says.

The support from her team and leaders has made a real difference, helping her thrive at work and at home.

Kristan’s path shows what’s possible when a company invests in its people and values their growth. Her story is a reminder that great careers aren’t always linear—they’re built on support, self-belief, and the freedom to grow.
