Head of Insight and Technology – Global Procurement

As the Head of Insight and Technology, you will be at the forefront of leveraging digital, AI, and automation to disrupt and transform the way goods and services are supplied to our clients. With AstraZeneca's revenue and external spend with partners growing, your role will be crucial in ensuring that we get value for every dollar spent.

The AZ Procurement function has deployed a range of Procurement technology solutions over recent years. These digital investments have been deployed in conjunction with a change to processes as well as operating models to ensure that we become ready to advance our function to become fully digital.

Accountabilities:

As the Head of Insight and Technology, you will lead all aspects of the Insights and technology strategy and execution for the Procurement organization. You will inspire the organization accountable for developing analytical models, maintaining and evolving Procurement’s technology stack. You will also play a critical role on the S&OE leadership team, helping drive the future shape and strategy of the function.

  • Leadership and management of 20 FTE globally

  • Create, improve and deliver a Technology and Analytics strategy and roadmap for Global Procurement

  • Overall budget management for the Digital Procurement organization

  • Ensures new industry technology and processes are incorporated into Procurement systems and reporting landscape

  • Accountable for the Overall management of key Procurement platforms – such as Jaggaer, Coupa, PowerBi and Cirtuo

  • Lead the Analytics workstreams as part of the Global Procurement transformation programme

  • Lead all technical evaluations of potential changes to any key Procurement platforms

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong Program design and implementation credibility

  • Significant experience of Procurement or Finance Operations experience

  • Demonstrated leadership / people management and business partnership skills

  • Strong communication, cross functional collaboration and influencing skills

  • Exceptional track record driving procurement's value proposition

  • Supplier Relationship Management and Development experience

  • Ability to leverage a range of influencing techniques

  • Proven ability to manage change

  • Strong analytical and financial skills

  • Ability to work in highly complex and fluid environment

​Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Advanced degree (such as an MBA, MS, JD)

  • Pharmaceutical Procurement experience
