Accountabilities:

As Group Internal Audit (GIA) PMO & Performance Manager, you will be responsible for the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) process, monitoring relevant developments in governance and audit regulation or best practice, as well as assessing GIA’s performance against relevant quality standards (e.g. Institute of Internal Auditors, internal and external assessments). You will support the continued development of the GIA Methodology and ways of working, optimising these through automation and technology solutions. You will also oversee the functional budget and work closely with the GIA Senior Leadership Team to design, generate and ensure the successful delivery of the annual Audit Plan. You will develop relationships with team members across the audit function, as well as with key stakeholders across the wider business, to help influence successful process and performance improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience within the Pharma or Biotech sectors, or in other large-scale organisations or professional services firms.

  • Ability and desire to act autonomously, effectively prioritising and managing a portfolio of tasks.

  • A strong understanding of key Operational Excellence and Business Process Ownership principles.

  • A good understanding of key legislation, guidance and best practice, relevant to internal audit.

  • Ability to undertake occasional international travel.

  • Ability to occasionally support and/or oversee audits.

  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation across various global locations.

  • A track record of being a strong team-player.

  • High level of personal integrity, tenacity and independence.

  • A flexible communication style.

  • Detailed oriented and ability to analyse complex issues from a range of perspectives.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • A relevant degree or postgraduate professional qualification.

  • Strong IT and digital skills.

  • Strong business English, including both written and verbal communication.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience of auditing / advising on governance, risk and controls within the Pharma or Biotech sectors.

  • Use of audit management systems.

  • Practical experiences of optimising business processes through automation.

  • Use of audit outcomes and understanding of risk to impactfully communicate insights on themes and emerging risks to the business.

  • Detailed knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, and/or other highly-regulated sector.
