As an Analyst in Credit Research, you will ultimately support the development of investment recommendations on companies and industries from a credit perspective. This will involve bottom-up and top-down credit analysis, research report writing, client interaction, and the development of a comprehensive investment skillset, specifically in the utility and energy sectors. Key responsibilities will include fundamental company analysis, assessing industry dynamics, tracking and interpreting news events, reviewing corporate releases, financial modelling and valuation work, as well as discussing investment ideas with internal and external clients. Research is a fast-paced, diverse, and intellectually stimulating job. As a baseline, we are looking for candidates who are good with numbers, good at communicating, and good with people. Preferred candidates will possess excellent quantitative skills, a talent for data sourcing and interpretation, an aptitude for business writing and ideas presentation, as well as being diligent, detail oriented, and passionate about markets.

This role requires a wide variety of capabilities and experience including:

  • Experience in an analytical role, ideally in research, investment banking, accounting or at a rating agency.
  • An advanced level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, plus a general aptitude for analytical platforms/systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A passion for the markets and an interest in the utility, oil & gas and clean energy sectors.
  • A CFA/accounting qualification or progress toward these would be a plus.
  • A diligent, detail focused and intellectually curious individual.
