Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) is responsible for the on-boarding and ongoing credit risk management of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank (“CIB”) clients.

The Global Central Counterparty (CCP) Credit Risk & Strategy Team (CRT) manages the risks emanating from the CCP credit risk portfolio, which are some of the largest credit exposures. The team partners closely with business units across Global Markets and Sales, Wholesale Payments, Securities Services, and Corporate & Investment Banking. The team liaises with external constituents to advocate for and address CCP risk concerns and related regulatory matters. In addition, CRT helps to ensure consistent JPM communication on CCP risks globally.

As an Analyst you will manage a portfolio of CCPs within the EMEA region. In this role you will develop an in-depth understanding of CCP risks to perform CCP credit due diligence and financial analysis and summarize in written credit approval memos and reviews.

Job responsibilities

  • Credit risk coverage for client in the Financial Market Infrastructure sector including CCPs, CSDs and Exchanges
  • Managing portfolio of CCPs on an ongoing basis with ability to:
    • Evaluate CCP rules/procedures as part of onboarding of CCPs
    • Pro-actively monitor quarterly financials and risk related developments at CCPs, highlighting changes and following up to understand impact
    • Support discussions to seek changes addressing risk concerns by tracking issues, preparing meeting agendas and circulating minutes
    • Review trading activity, including recommending credit enhancements and appropriate structures and provide inputs into legal negotiation of credit agreements
    • Monitor exposures/ limits to articulate risk appetite and risk grading

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in financial services preferably in credit and/ or market risk management
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, close attention to detail and enthusiastic about client interaction
  • Strong initiative with ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of CCPs, clearing business activities and derivatives products are beneficial
  • Experience and working knowledge of loan documentation, transactions and banking products are beneficial
  • Excellent MS Office skills
