Corporate Risk Control Manager – Associate

The Control Management Associate performs ongoing analysis of the business’ risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses, and ensures that controls are properly designed.
As a Control Management Associate in Corporate Control management team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation. Specifically, this position works in conjunction with the control officers to partner with senior management, compliance officers, program managers and other functional support groups (IT and IT Risk, Operational Risk Oversight, Compliance, Finance, and Audit) across the firm to support the development and implementation of a consistent approach to the management of risks and controls.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluates and performs an end-to-end analysis of the business’ risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks, inclusive of the escalation of risks and issues and partnering with the Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner.
- Ensures that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
- Performs ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI), including the analysis of large data sets and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies
- Assists with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units
- Provides control expertise on policy, standards, procedures, internal audits, regulatory exams and strategic initiatives
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Previous experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
- Strong aptitude in working with large amounts of information
- Alteryx and Tableau experience
