Our team is looking to create a best in class environment for our internal Engineering community and wider internal users. Our friendly UX team is focused on understanding and improving the experience across the firm impacting over 50,000 technologists.

Under the UX Director for the wider product area, you’ll lead a UX team focused on the migration and improvement of our system of record (APM) for all of our applications, so someone with some experience in risks and controls or data management would be beneficial but not essential. The product is moving from a legacy system to a portal version of ServiceNow, so being able to fairly assess between ‘out of the box’ vs ‘custom’ solutions alongside the product and technical teams will be key to this role, as well a leading the UX strategy for the UX team, guiding and mentoring more junior members of staff and offering clear direction for the UX researchers.

You’ll be comfortable in design and research practices, have a strong grasp of IA and information hierarchy as well strong stakeholder management to ensure the various business areas are on board with the UX direction for the product, and ensuring the quality of the UX output.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands on and passionate UX designer, comfortable managing UX for the product area and providing direction and guidance to a team of UX practitioners.

What you'll do:

  • Hands on UX design manager responsible for leading the UX work for the product and mentoring and supporting the UX team within that product area
  • Be comfortable in assessing how to delegate the work amongst yourself and the UX team based on skills, growth opportunities for those individuals as well as balancing against the business needs
  • Be comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders of varying levels to understand the user requirements and pain points
  • Working with the PM and business analysts to define user stories and product backlogs
  • Alongside the PM, identifying and defining the UX research areas needed to support your product, identifying areas for both validation and exploration
  • Making use of metrics, analytics, user research and various data sources to ensure the team are working from user data, needs and behaviours
  • Actively contributing and using our common design language + design systems from the wider UX team
  • Communicate and articulate the value of UX and the rationale behind your research process and recommendations, bringing the team along your journey
  • Lead and/or take part in design review sessions
  • Liaising with the wider UXD and UXR leads to ensure latest best practices are being followed and for broader visibility of work

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s in UX/HCI or related field or equivalent experience
  • Advance applied UX Design experience
  • Experience in managing or mentoring UX resources
  • Experience of designing for complex processes
  • Ability to design and define the information architecture, information hierarchy and user journeys and process flows
  • Expert in FIGMA, Sketch or similar design tools
  • Ability to define the user experience (UX) strategy for your products and services
  • Experienced in agile delivery processes and tools such as JIRA
  • Be able to write clear UX user stories to support your/your teams designs to provide clear definitions to the PO, dev and test teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities on concurrent, rigorous deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong communication, project planning and management skills
