This is an exciting opportunity to join Nexus Middle Office (MO) Team, created in April 2020 to support the continuous growth of the Nexus Synthetic Portfolio Business. Nexus Synthetic Portfolio has evolved and matured enormously as a product whilst continuous effort is still being made to develop and improve the product.

As a Trade Support - Associate in Nexus MO team you will perform daily controls and liaise with both internal and external clients and key contacts. You will work extensively with the Structuring team, QR, Derivatives Analytics Group, Trading and Technology to ensure that the client reporting is timely and accurately completed and indices are priced accurately. You will be also involved in several initiatives and projects, providing opportunities to gain exposure to different teams and senior management.

Our Nexus MO Team provides an end-to-end scalable solution to our Clients to manage their own strategies, leveraging the firms trading and operational expertise. Nexus Synthetic Portfolio is a product within the J.P. Morgan Nexus Platform which has grown significantly in the past years. It is a flagship Nexus product which allows clients to obtain synthetic exposure to a discretionarily managed portfolio utilizing J.P. Morgan's most advanced technology and operations (transactional, settlement, reporting).

Job responsibilities

  • Is a first point of call for answering and resolving all client queries
  • Reconciliates trades in daily reports vs internal bookings and resolution of pricing errors, monitors investment guidelines and restrictions
  • Liaises with Line Of Business MO to check for trade booking exceptions on Today, performs price reconciliation to identify and rectify price replayed exceptions on Today
  • Cross-checks pricing data prior to distribution of daily reports to high priority clients
  • Performs daily manual reconciliation of Bloomberg published vs Nexus Synthetic Derivative Underlying (SDU) level
  • Manages swiftly client queries and escalate to key stakeholders, coordinates with global trading and middle office team, ensuring successful trade capture
  • Establishes robust end-to-end reporting framework of global synthetic portfolios. Daily reconciliation of primary, secondary and risk breaks
  • Performs route cause analysis & break resolution, as well as republications & impact analysis
  • EID Management, mailbox management - responding to various stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Engages in ongoing project management across multiple streams (infrastructure, regulations, controls etc.), compiles and presents monthly governance material for multiple forums
  • Performs Client Onboarding, involving liaising with various local and global teams to ensure clients are fully onboarded, runs periodic review of Indices

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to analyze complex process flows and, working with partners, develop efficient, controlled and complete processes
  • Knowledge of derivative products
  • Good Excel knowledge

  • Excellent communication and control focus
  • Good understanding of downstream impact of actions undertaken in a Middle Office from trade capture through entire trade lifecycle as well as ability to identify weakness and drive change (Previous trade support/control function experience would be a plus)

  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize under pressure
  • Good numeric and analytical skills; good attention to detail
