Tax Operations are uniquely positioned at the heart of what we do. We impact the business we undertake from end to end, are involved in all steps of the transaction lifecycle as well as new initiatives (products and services) and vendor management. We work in collaboration with counterparts from all areas across Lines of Business, Technology, Finance and Corporate Functions.

As the Vice President of US Tax and Qualified Intermediary (QI) Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with US tax regulations and managing our QI program. You will be exposed to certain activities of an operational nature in relation to tax matters, overseeing QI reporting, and liaising with regulatory authorities. Additionally as a Tax Specialist with expertise in UK, CRS, and FATCA, you will be a crucial member of our tax operations team, ensuring adherence to UK tax regulations and international reporting standards. You will play a pivotal role in managing our CRS and FATCA programs and providing expert guidance on tax matters.

Job responsibilities

  • Develops and implements tax compliance strategies in accordance with US tax laws and regulations
  • Manages the Qualified Intermediary (QI) program, ensuring adherence to all requirements and reporting obligations with the IRS
  • Stays updated on changes in US tax laws and regulations and ensure implementation within the organization
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business processes
  • Conducts regular internal training sessions to educate team members on tax-related matters
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Corporate tax & US Tax teams and oversee the resolution of any tax-related inquiries or audits
  • Monitors and analyzes the impact of tax-related developments on the organization's operations and financial performance
  • Provides strategic recommendations to senior management regarding tax planning, reconciliations and risk management
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on UK tax laws and regulations, as well as CRS and FATCA reporting requirements
  • Develops and implements tax compliance strategies in accordance with UK tax laws and international reporting standards. Whilst ensuring the accurate and timely reporting for CRS and FATCA, including identifying reportable accounts and coordinating reporting processes
  • Escalates production-related issues, ensuring continuity of service while simultaneously managing effective resolution with key stakeholders. Whilst exercising sound judgment; act with integrity; protect our company, clients, and customers

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Relevant experience working in Tax Operations
  • Experience in banking, especially in tax operations
  • Specialist in US tax & QI responsibilities. Working knowledge of UK Tax, CRS & FATCA reporting
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Proven track record of successfully managing tax compliance programs for financial institutions or similar organizations
  • Strong understanding of US, UK & CRS tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with regulatory authorities when required

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master's in Law, Business, Accounting and/or Economics
  • Other languages such as French, German, and Italian
