Job Summary

As a React Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank Athena Trade and Risk Services team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading User Interfaces in a secure, stable, and scalable way. The team is responsible for the core Trade Model of the Athena platform, which serves many clients within, and out-with, the firm, and Trade Management Services that exist on top of said Model. We are looking to expand our offerings for those products in 2024 and beyond and you have an opportunity to become one of the first front-end focused members of the team and therefore help influence the design and initial development of these component User Interfaces.

Job responsibilities

  • Builds high-performance desktop/web applications
  • Designs and develops first-class User Interfaces with an enthusiastic attitude towards User Experience
  • Proactively identifies patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to system architecture and User Interface design
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Experience in UI development using React and Typescript and UI/UX concepts to build complex web applications
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD
