As an International Private Bank Operational Risk Manager within the Risk Management and Compliance team, you will be the Operational Risk Lead responsible for the independent oversight of operational risk management practices in select areas of the Asset & Wealth Management & International Private Bank businesses with a primary focus on supporting the multi year Program Modernization (PMoD) initiative within International Private Bank. You will lead the Operational Risk coverage of select areas across Asset & Wealth Management Operations & International Private Bank. With a primary focus on supporting the PMoD program. You will join a dynamic team of risk professionals, building positive business stakeholder engagement and promoting a strong operational risk management culture, to ensure that the Firm’s Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk Management Framework is implemented effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Represent Operational Risk within the PMod program, assessing the Operational risk impact of key changes to the broader business, influencing risk-based decisions, challenging the proposed control environment, and recommending approval (or not) of the initiatives
  • Coordinate review of Business led changes to determine impacts to PMoD Program.
  • Conduct discovery reviews of areas of emerging risk to identify issues for the business to remediate, documenting outcomes and sharing results with stakeholders
  • Plan and execute targeted monitoring activities overseeing program governance, identifying potential control gaps & design deficiencies
  • Engage with global horizontal risk programs (e.g., Data Risk Management) to ensure that business practices remain in line with firm wide changes, to define relevant monitoring & testing activities, and to engage with the related regional, Legal Entity & global risk assessment programs (LERA, QORA)
  • Prepare materials for regional and global forums to promote business awareness of the outcomes of Operational Risk activities, and support Operational Risk engagement in regulatory deliverables (e.g., OCC, ECB, PRA).

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive knowledge of operational risks associated with Private Banking products and operations, obtained in functions such as Operations, Control Management, Operational Risk and/or Compliance
  • Self-motivated, driven and inquisitive
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analytics, and proven ability to identify potential control issues and process improvements
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Ability to deliver amidst continuous change and in an agile work environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Digital products experience & knowledge of emerging technology trends (Cloud, AI/ML, Large Language Models) would be a plus.
