Job Summary

As the FX Option Trader you will work as part of our team in London with primary focus on a particular currency bloc. You will contribute ideas and operate in currency markets using a variety of products to mitigate risks arising from trading positions. You will have a chance to act independently as well as a part of a wider, collaborative and diverse team. As a VP level Trader on the desk, you will be responsible for market-making in FX options and you need to be comfortable quoting large notional sizes.

The role focuses on market-making for a broad range of investors (money managers, banks, insurance companies, pension funds and corporates). You will also work closely with multiple teams and provide commentary and market analysis, as well as manage the day to day flow activity and risk in your own trading book. The position demands solid communication skills in order to transact in an effective way.

The work environment is fast-paced and challenging, so the ability to think and react quickly under pressure is essential.

Job responsibilities

  • Make markets in both vanilla and exotic options
  • Manage trading risk of client flows and orders
  • Maintain strict compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Work closely with sales to facilitate client trading strategies
  • Communicate with influence to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment of real-time market pressures and easily remain focused on client needs
  • Drive collaborative culture with stakeholders and team members; assist with mentoring and development of junior staff
  • Collaborate with the FX Options Technology and Quantitative Research groups to help grow our electronic capabilities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrable trading experience
  • Ability to assess and understand risk around trading positions and market events
  • Maturity and ability to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience trading at a large bank;
  • Experience interacting with major institutional FX clients;
  • Experience with electronic market making;

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
