As a Fund Accounting - Vice President in the Operations team, you will provide services such as Fund Accounting, Fund Oversight, Fund Administration, Investment Operations and Transfer Agency to mutual and pension funds. You will deal with various types range from, but are not limited to Unit Trusts, OEICS, Multi Manager, SICAVs and Life & Pension Funds. You will be responsible for people management.

Job responsibilities

  • Identifies any process and/or procedural changes required because of changes to client SLA’s, markets, daily operations or business functions
  • Manages group email boxes and internal enquiry management tools to ensure queries are resolved and responded to within a timeframe and manner sensitive to the urgency of the event, and in accordance with prescribed service levels
  • Manages relationship and open communication between JPM Utility Hubs and external counterparties, within prescribed timeframes
  • Takes full responsibility for adherence to all departmental procedures, policies, checkpoints, and controls
  • Identifies process inefficiencies and manage change through operational process improvements
  • Supports Senior Management with appropriate escalation of all issues, service updates and progress updates for clients. Be an active participant on key initiatives driven by the Edinburgh Operations Management Team
  • Understands Risk Management and manages the issues exceptions above materiality thresholds for resolution

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understanding of the financial markets, investment types, accounting, and pricing policies essential
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict, and informed risk taking
  • Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and can be executed from an operation perspective
  • Multi-tasker who can manage multiple streams of work concurrently
  • Investigate opportunities for self-development and improving knowledge of the business to improve skills and deliver maximum service levels
  • Able to work effectively across cultures and take advantage of time zones to deliver more effectively to the client
  • Able to network and influence across other European fund administration sites in Dublin & Luxembourg
  • Strong leadership skills within a large team environment with the ability to set high standards and focus the team on achieving & improving

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Solid experience in Operations or Client Service Management with evidence of project management skills & managing change with conflicting priorities
  • Flair for Intelligent automation tools like Alteryx, Tableau, etc
  • Comfortable working across all levels of the organization and bringing teams together to achieve results
  • Risk control and procedure orientated
  • Invest One knowledge advantageous, but not essential
  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject
