Junior Java Software Engineer
What does the team do
We build the systems that power the supply chain activities of our retail partners using OSP around the world. As high-profile, mission critical applications, these require rigour, creativity, and engineering prowess to succeed.
Working within the Supply Chain & Planning department, we’re looking for someone to work with the other members of the team by contributing to the discovery and implementation of features from conception to production. The new team member will contribute to features that support purchase order management to ensure the recommended purchase order system and UI can place orders and these orders reach our CFC systems and our client retailer systems.
What would I be doing
- Part of a team of: 5-6 engineers, a Team Lead and a Product Manager.
- Contributing to the discovery and implementation of features from conception to production.
- Playing a key part in the technical design of solutions to interesting problems.
- Working with the team on continuous improvement of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Developing new systems and capabilities as well as making changes to existing systems owned by other teams.
- Participating in out of hours support rota where agreed.
- Promoting good engineering practices, bug prevention strategies, testability and other advanced quality concepts.
- Contributing to the open, supportive, and dynamic culture of the team
What we are looking for
- Some experience working with Java (8/11)
- Passionate about learning and developing new skills.
- An understanding of CI/CD best practices
- An understand of AWS Integrations
- Passionate about developing high-quality enterprise software
- Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
