We are currently recruiting for a Container Painter & Finisher to join our team in Felixstowe.

Successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all containers are repaired, sprayed and finished in accordance with the client and Pentalver requirements, updating in house terminal operating systems with container information using electronic devices provided.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure containers are prepared to a high standard in line with requirements in a timely manner.
  • Perform final inspection of finished containers, ensuring all requirements have been fulfilled on the job prior to container leaving the workshop.
  • Pressure washing of containers.
  • Minor repairs of containers (when required).
  • Effective and appropriate use of tools/equipment in the correct manner, including but not limited to hand held power tools and pressure washers.
  • Maintain high standards of good housekeeping, with particular attention to the working area – equipment/tools stored in relevant areas, sweeping and picking up any rubbish especially nails or sharp objects
  • Maintaining work equipment / paint guns / breath apps to a high standard.
  • Maintain health and safety standards within your own working area and looking out for colleagues, always wear relevant PPE and ensure others are.
  • Ensure data sheets and risk assessments are adhered to raise any concerns or issues accordingly to line manager or the H&S manager.
  • Keeping terminal operating systems up to date with container details using supplied devices.

Key requirements:

  • Due to the nature of a job, ability to perform tasks of a physical nature.
  • Previous experience in the application of paints by air gun (pump) or by hand.
  • Understanding of how to mix different paints.
  • Flexible to work outside normal business hours and overtime when needed.
  • Basic understanding of DIY.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor setting.
  • Ability to work well in a busy environment.
  • A mature approach to H&S requirements and understanding of COSHH substances.
  • A strong team player.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to learn new skills using general workshop tools.
