Material / Logistics Handler - Six month contract

*This is a 6-month fixed term contract*
We have a great opportunity for a Material/Logistics Handler to join Servomex, the world leader in gas analysis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the logistics and order fulfilment processes by receiving material into the business, delivering them to the relevant locations and packing finished goods for shipment. This opening will suit a team player who thrives in a busy and active environment.
It is a great opportunity for someone to develop their experience within a manufacturing/ warehouse environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Physical receipt of material into the business and updating the business system accordingly
- Delivery of material to storage or usage location
- Replenishment of Kanban systems
- Pre-use cleaning of materials as required
- Packing goods for shipment
- Ordering packaging materials as required and maintaining the correct levels of packing inventory
- Completion of cycle counts for perpetual inventory counting
- Compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of material management or process improvements
- Any other activities which may sustain or improve the performance of Operations as a whole
About your Talent:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing / warehouse or similar environment
- Motivated self-starter who is proactive and team spirited
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes and procedures
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Experience of packing and shipping
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Forklift trained
- Experience of using ERP systems is (SAP preferred)
- Experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- IATA Dangerous Goods Training
Essential Education:
GCSE Grade C or 4 or above (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science or ONC (or equivalent) in Science, Maths or technology subjects
Location: Crowborough, East Sussex, UK
Job Type: Full Time 6 month contract
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - early finish Friday
Salary: up to £22,000 annual equivalent
This salary represents a general guideline; Servomex considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions
