Softcat's L&D team sits within a wider HR department consisting of HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Reward, Recruitment, Diversity & Inclusion and Employee Engagement. The purpose of the L&D team is to enable Softcat's success through learning by inspiring a culture of curiosity, growth and continuous development. Support the development of our people

As a Learning & Development Executive you will be responsible for supporting our IT department to upskill and enable our employees on our core applications and systems. You will be working with internal stakeholders and external training providers to deliver a variety of learning initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional individual to provide full learning and development support in a strategic area of our business.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with our internal IT department to develop and support new initiatives to upskill and enable our employees on our core systems and applications
  • Managing our internal companywide mandatory training needs, working closely with our senior leadership team and core stakeholders to meet our audit requirements
  • Creating and delivering engaging learning content, adapting material to ensure suitability to different learners
  • Helping drive a culture of self-responsibility for learning, by supporting and adding value to our internal e-learning platform Fuse
  • Building relationships with external L&D providers and support design stage by ensuring the training has the ‘Softcat' touch

We'd love you to have

  • Ability to grasp concepts and learning easily and be able to share knowledge in a simple way with others
  • Confidence in creating and delivering engaging learning content and materials
  • A methodical in approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with different personalities
  • Experience helping others to develop and apply a different way of thinking
  • Previous experience within the IT market or delivering IT training and / or designing e-learning content would be advantageous

  • Hybrid working – a mixture of working from home and in the office
  • Working flexible hours - flexing the times you start and finish during the day
  • Flexibility around school pick up and drop offs
  • We are able to consider this role on a part time (4 days per week) basis
  • Some travel will be required to other offices (around once or twice a month)
