Women should apply to be a Trainee Train Driver as it is never too late for a change of career. The training is intense as there is a lot to learn but it's taught well and everyone is really supportive. The main benefit is having a better work/home life balance. Working a 4 day week gives me more time to be able to spend with my family and, with the shift work, it enables me to do things during the week which I would be unable to do if I worked 9-5.
