About the role:

Thinking about life after school or perhaps a change in career? Maybe you enjoy fixing things or prefer being outdoors and doing hands-on practical work? Perhaps you are looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill? This Apprenticeship Programme offers you the chance to earn whilst you learn new skills. The National Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship is for people who wish to pursue a career in the maintenance of large scale commercial wind turbines

This is a 3-year programme, a combination of on and off-the-job training, with on-the job training being spent on learning practical skills at one of our Wind Farms, and off-the-job training at Kerry College. You will be trained in a progressive manner and will get to put your skills into practice during both on and off the job training stages. On successful completion, you will have achieved an Advanced Certificate in Industrial Wind Turbine Engineering and will be fully competent in the role of a Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician.

You will be supported throughout your programme by a wide number of colleagues including mentors, Learning and Talent support staff and business operational colleagues. You will be provided with on-the-job training and supported by our academic training partners.

Sustainability underpins everything we do so we believe in making the most of our most valuable assets - our people - and supporting them to be their best. With a carefully designed development programme, you will have everything you need to progress your SSE career as far as you want to go.
