Delivery Project Managers

About the Roles

Base Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth, Shetland

Salary: £45,400 - £68,200 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

We are currently recruiting for Project Managers to work within the SSEN Transmission Offshore Directorate Delivery Team to deliver various Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects before 2030 regulatory deadlines to directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net-Zero.

The projects are primarily subsea High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) links and due to the scale, complex nature, and accelerated requirements, we are implementing an innovative delivery strategy and disaggregated model. This utilises framework contracts with key supply chain partners, creating several packages of work that we need managed including: design, earthworks, building, civil, onshore cable, offshore cable, and HVDC Converter; as well as the interfaces between these.

Our portfolio of projects is already large and is likely to grow in the coming years, meaning there will likely be opportunities for progression within the business.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role will be:

- Accountable to the Business for the safety, health and welfare of all personnel, and for environmental aspects of those Transmission projects activities being managed, including compliance with our framework behaviour charters and the CDM regulations.

- Planning, Monitoring, and Controlling projects or packages in line with Project Execution Plans. Managing the safe, effective, and efficient running of packages to ensure that these are executed to cost, schedule and quality.

- Commercial responsibilities, including contract negotiation, contract awards, and NEC contract management, ensuring that any disputes are escalated as appropriate for resolution. Budgetary responsibilities.

- Ensuring the use of recognised project management processes, reporting, methods, techniques and tools, in particular the application of our Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance Framework Manual.

-Provide leadership and demonstrate our core values. Lead teams, ensuring these are highly competent, well-motivated, and organised to deliver consistent excellence. Take line management and mentoring responsibility for Assistant Project Managers to ensure they perform to their required duties and are given all available opportunity to develop.

What do I need?

The requirements for these roles are as follows:

- A developing leader and safety champion, with an engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience is required.

- Experience and proven track record of safely delivering packages of work or projects to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Energy, or other regulated industry/the wider utilities sector.

- A strong engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.

- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge and experience of negotiating, administering, and managing NEC Contracts. Ideally within a framework / alliance / partnering / enterprise environment and also with a recognised NEC qualification / registration.

- Experience of the governance, reporting, and management requirements for project and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment, with prior budget responsibilities of over £5m.
