About the Role

Base Location: Scotland - Flexible | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices in Scotland.

Salary: £38,700 - £58,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available

This is a unique opportunity to join SSE as an Early Careers and Pipelines Manager for an interim period of 12 months. In this role, you'll be at the heart of managing the people pipeline activity and responsibilities across the Transmission business. You'll drive programmes and processes for SSEN Transmission's graduates, trainees and apprentices as well as exploring new pipeline pools and managing internal talent pipelines. As Early Careers and Pipelines Manager you will:

- Lead trainee, graduate and apprentice recruitment activity including onboarding and induction programmes. Identify opportunities to improve the current trainee pipeline programmes.

- Collaborate with Operational HR Managers to foster internal talent growth, overseeing the Extended Leadership Team program and ensuring clarity on Transmission's talent pipeline. Partner with Corporate Learning, Talent teams, academic institutions, and other agencies to facilitate various pipeline initiatives.

- Undertake formal and informal trainee progress reviews and provide support and advice to all Early Years pipeline staff and business mentors.

- Support ad hoc HR activity to ensure we have both the recruitment and retention of a strong pipeline of talent in place in a timely manner and to deliver our ambitious T3 business plan and beyond.

- Work closely with our members of the HR Strategic Workforce Planning team to support early careers and talent engagement activity, including supporting any external strategic partnerships in relation to STEM & education.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- An awareness of early careers projects and programmes. A background in learning or academia could be helpful but is not essential.

- Experience of talent development schemes and succession planning processes, including engaging with learners, and supporting their learning journey.

- The ability to deliver at pace in a changing environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Skilled in identifying new opportunities for improvement and creating a plan to deliver these.

- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders in a highly professional manner, both internal and external.

- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills. Good working knowledge of Office 365.
