About the Role

Base Location: Flexible Scotland, but our preference is for you to be based at one of our key sites in Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.

As the UK Transitions to net zero, the SSER Hydro fleet will continue to be a key enabler to renewables growth, thanks to its capability to deliver green energy safely and reliably all year round. Utilising the power of water in some of the most scenic locations in Scotland, the Hydro Asset Management team work to safely and effectively deliver the energy people need, at the right times, through optimisation of it’s immense storage capability.

We are looking to grow the team to bring in new skills and capabilities, building on the strong history of renewable energy delivery. As Commercial Contracts Analyst, you'll play a key role supporting the Hydro Asset Management team by maximising the value of their commercial agreements and contractual offerings.

Some of your main responsibilities will include :

- Managing, maintaining, updating and maximising the Hydro commercial contract register.

- Investigating and pursuing opportunities to increase revenues gained, and proposing new initiatives to add further value.

- Drafting agreements to ensure the scope of services provided are suitable and fit for purpose.

- Providing analysis on revenue and cost related metrics, and communicating proposals or changes based on the data.

- Supporting the commercial activities of the investment management team, such as assessing the profitability of projects, budget requests, investment cases and new opportunities to enhance revenue.

What do I need?

You'll be a key member of a small team, so while it's not important to have a background in Renewables, you'll need to have commercial acumen and experience in the creation and management of different types of agreements, including negotiations.

We would also love you to have:

- Experience in a relevant discipline such as commercial management, procurement, quantity surveying or a similar business function.

- Proven ability in considering and mitigating impacts on commercial performance, risk and value, in order to make decisions in real time.

- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to extract relevant data sets and apply them to contract requirements and obligations so that key decisions can be made, and continuous improvements can be highlighted.

- Proven capability in managing a wide variety of bespoke contracts, such as compensation agreements for water abstracted from other parties or landowners, and agreements where there is supply of water to local third parties.
