About the Role

Base Location: Cardiff (with a requirement to be based in the Ty Calon office 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to work from home / another SSE office the remainder of the week).

Salary: £45,400 - £68,200 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As a Settlements Team Leader for Ireland Settlements, you will oversee the day-to-day management of settlements activities, ensuring accurate and timely validation of income and expenditure, whilst risk is managed effectively. Working closely with stakeholders across various business units you provide an efficient, effective service, maximizing revenue whilst seeking to identify areas for adding value within the business units. As part of your role you will:

- Provide high quality, professional customer experience, managing key financial, regulatory and energy market risks whilst adhering to all rules and regulations.

- Promote a right first-time approach where lessons are learned through management of team and individual performance.

- Drive team performance and effectiveness against operational targets, through coaching and development.

- Manage change effectively, from inception to implementation, with a positive attitude, encouraging and supporting your team to ensure successful delivery.

- Promote Energy Markets culture to be part of everyday thinking, whilst highlighting the contribution your team make to Energy Markets and SSE strategy.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience in and knowledge of the Irish Energy Market would be advantageous

- People management experience with the ability to motivate, coach and support your team through strong leadership.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarise complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity in written and verbal form

- You will have strong interpersonal skills; you’ll work well with others and build and sustain relationships at all levels.

- Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to innovation and problem solving.

- Manage key relationships with internal/external stakeholders, exercising your strong influencing and negotiation skills to achieve key deliverables and timelines.

Energy Markets (EM) is the energy markets heart of the SSE Group, securing value for SSE's asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets as we move towards our vision of being a leading energy company in a net zero world. We play a critical role as the short-term energy market asset optimiser, and a long-term energy market adviser, for all SSE's Business Units (across SSE's Wind, Hydro, Low Carbon Thermal, Distributed Energy and Customer portfolios).
