About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant.

Salary: £45,400 - £68,000 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent Flexible First options available

As Ornithology Policy and Strategy Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing SSER strategies, influencing government, SNCB and NGO policy, and promoting innovation and research to ensure timely and efficient execution of SSER's Offshore Wind Farm projects, and the affective delivery our renewable energy and biodiversity objectives.

Some of your other main accountabilities will include;

- Collaborating with Consent, Development, and Environmental teams throughout the business to ensure a comprehensive SSER-wide strategic approach to Ornithology aspects connected to Offshore Wind Farm development.

- Providing strategic input and technical expertise in discussions around offshore Ornithology, effectively influencing Government and other relevant industry organisations to guarantee SSER's strategic approach is represented in consultation feedback and the evolution of policies.

- Representing SSER at relevant Ornithology research groups. Identifying and developing research and innovation projects to deliver SSER Ornithology Strategy.

- Work with Corporate Affairs and stakeholder management teams to deliver coordinated and effective engagement programs in line with the SSER strategy.

- Providing support when required to ensure project deliverables are achieved, outputs are of high quality and external standards are met.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Knowledge of Ornithology assessment techniques, policy and legislation for EIA and HRA regarding Offshore Wind Farm development across the UK and Ireland

- An understanding of the UK Ornithology research community and funding streams

- Expertise in creating concise, clearly structured technical documents and reports.

- The ability to present and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a range of stakeholders, allowing key decisions to be made.
