SSEN Transmission Offshore Delivery Team is currently recruiting for all levels of Delivery Project Managers (Assistant through Senior) to deliver various High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects before 2030 regulatory deadlines to directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net-Zero.

We are implementing an innovative delivery strategy and disaggregated delivery model, meaning we require various Project Managers for our design, civil and building packages.

The scale of our portfolio of projects is already large and is likely to grow in the coming years, meaning there will likely be opportunities for progression within the business.

The key duties and responsibilities of these roles include:

- Accountable to the Business for the safety, health, and wellbeing of all personnel, and for environmental aspects of those Transmission projects activities being managed, including compliance with our framework behaviour charter and the CDM regulations.

- Planning, Monitoring, and Controlling projects or packages in line with Project Execution Plans to ensure that these are executed to cost, schedule and quality.

- Commercial responsibilities, including contract negotiation, contract awards, and NEC contract management, ensuring that any disputes are escalated as appropriate for resolution. Budgetary responsibilities.

- Ensuring the project adheres to our Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance processes.

- Provide guidance and demonstrate our core values. Manage teams, ensuring these are highly capable, well-motivated, and organised to deliver consistent excellence.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we’d love you to have:

- A proven track record of safely delivering packages of work or projects to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Energy, or other regulated industry / the wider utilities sector.

- People management experience and a passion for safety, with an understanding of project management methodology and practice to lead a multi-discipline team to success coupled with an engineering, construction, or project management qualification / degree or equivalent experience is required.

- Engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.

- Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes

- Experience of the governance, reporting, and management requirements for project and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment, with prior budget responsibilities, ideally in excess of £5m.

Lack experience but are still interested?

If you have a background in project management within another industry or are looking to move into a project management role, please do apply. We may be able to offer an Assistant Project Manager role with the ability to transition to a Project Manager role once the necessary experience has been gained.
