We have a new role in our restaurant Trotters in the Colindale hub. It is a brilliant opportunity for a friendly, hardworking and experienced individual to take on a Catering Manager position in our in-house restaurant. In this role you will have full ownership and accountability of our restaurant Trotters.

You’ll have proven management experience in a catering service with front of house and chef accountability alongside experience with financial targets and running of the P&L for the services.

You’ll also have:

  • Experience in a similar manager role with either internal or contract exposure

  • Experience of hospitality management and working with key stakeholders on company events

  • Be IT and computer systems literate, provide and monitor data

  • Take initiative and make decisions that are right for our customers

  • Have a safety-first mindset

  • Be willing to work with the team and support as an when required in the kitchen

The team is growing and we are welcoming more employees back to the office, meaning the restaurant is getting busier and busier. Yourself and the team will be ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant, positive customer reactions and providing delicious and nutritious food.

We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact…

  • Food Handling & Hygiene standards, including allergen awareness will be your bread and butter, constantly ensuring our restaurant is adhering to these.

  • Maintaining positive internal client relationships ensuring regular feedback is sought

  • Ensuring the smooth planning of the services and resources to deliver a first-class service to our customers

  • Be responsible for the management, recruitment, development and training of team members

  • Creating menu plans with financial and nutritional data to provide clear information to users and management

  • Ordering food, ensuring stock control and controlling food waste with monthly reporting to management

  • Deliver on the agreed financial budget and run commercially in line with net income and cost targets

  • Work closely with the Facilities team to ensure maintenance and cleaning regimes are monitored and managed

  • Health & Safety regulations and any team training and adherence to all company policies and procedures

  • Ensure resources are deployed effectively relative to the number of customers/forecasted demand to provide an excellent level of service.

  • Manage budgets for catering operations, including food/menu costs, equipment purchases, and overhead expenses.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions to enhance productivity.

  • Monitor menu performance and adjust offerings as needed to optimise profitability and minimise waste.

  • Monitor expenses regularly and identify areas for efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Monitor vendor performance and quality to ensure value for money.

  • Provide training and development opportunities to staff to enhance skills and improve performance.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling standards, and licensing requirements.

  • Implement and review quality control measures to ensure food safety, freshness, and presentation standards.

  • Generate reports and analysis on catering performance, including financial metrics, cost variances, and operational KPIs.
