You’ll have exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, adept at fostering collaboration among internal and external stakeholders. Fluency in written, verbal, and presentation communication is essential for effectively conveying ideas and information. Strong negotiation abilities are highly valued, as we aim to secure optimal value for our business endeavours. You’ll be proficient in numeracy for analysing financial data as managing budgets and controlling costs is integral to the role.

We are building a new procurement team to enable the business to develop and thrift with their growth. The role is a new opportunity and has a chance to shape the future of the team and ways of working for the business. Being part of the journey to excellence the role will sit within the Procurement, Property and Warehouse department. Collaboration with finance is key to ensuring value is generated for the business and stakeholders.

We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact…

  • Be pivotal in the company growth plans and work across the entire business, partnering with departments to ensure supplier governance and performance

  • Develop the purchasing strategy of the business and our new policies and ways of working

  • Challenge business plans and strategy documents to ensure robustness of approach that maximises commercial opportunity and mitigates risk

  • Support departments with forecast levels of demand for services and products

  • Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality

  • Develop in partnership with departments tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors

  • Ability to negotiate and agree contracts ranging in value from £25k - £50m

  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers

  • Manage and motivate a team of procurement staff

  • Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements

  • Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services

  • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities

  • Understand market analysis and possible growth to support future decision making

  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business

  • Ensuring all vendors meet the compliance requirements of the company

  • Bring value to the business through contract reviews, negotiations and recommendations

  • All departments will be stakeholders with an emphasis on finance and legal relationships

  • Deliver cost savings through the supply chain and efficiency within the business
