We are looking for an experienced and passionate digital communications professional to drive UW's internal communications channel strategy and operations. This role is a 9 - 12 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

What we’re looking for:

  • You have experience managing internal communication channels and platforms, including but not limited to:
    • Out-of-the-box intranet products
    • Knowledge management platforms
    • Email marketing tools
    • Content management systems
    • Digital management and operational tools (we’re heavy Asana users!)
  • You are experienced in internal communications (specifically) and understand how a great digital strategy can improve the employee experience.
  • You have a high degree of flexibility, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, as well as an eye for detail.
  • You’re a natural planner and project manager and can help manage our editorial calendar and planning cycle.
  • You have an innovative mindset – always looking for ways to improve how UW communicates with and engages employees.

The Internal Communications team is the engine room for communications across the business. It owns the communication of our business and function strategies, brings to life our culture and brand, and tells everyone across the business what they need to know about our products, services, and operational activities.

This role will report to the Head of Internal Communications and working closely with our Internal Comms Business Partners, People Comms Manager and our Workplace Technology team.

You will be responsible for managing and driving improvements across our internal communication channels.

You will understand the complexities of communicating with a hybrid and customer-facing workforce. And, you will know what channel mix is required to communicate effectively to multiple different employee personas - identifying the best channels, for the right audiences, to deliver on our communication objectives and drive employee engagement.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and manage internal communications channels - helping to implement best practice standards.
  • Partner closely with our Workplace Technology team on behalf of Internal Communications to define business requirements for all internal communications digital platforms.
  • Partner with Function Internal Comms Managers for aligned cross-platform channel matrix for all target audiences. Stakeholder management will be key to driving progress - helping to shape and influence the use of employee channels and platforms not owned by the internal comms team.
  • Lead on driving improvements across existing channels and simplifying our channel matrix based on our FY25 internal comms priorities.
  • Manage our measurement and reporting process and dashboards to help drive improvement across all content and channels.
  • Support comms campaigns and editorial planning; aligning on prioritisation and tiering of comms activity across all channels.
  • Support the team by managing our editorial calendar and planning process.
