Your New Role…
The Compliance Editor is responsible for compliance decisions and technical material preparations such as content length and break patterns for transmission on linear and VOD platforms. This role requires knowledge of EMEA compliance regulations such as OFCOM and NICAM (Kijkwijzer), and being able to manage technical edits in preparation for broadcast.
The Compliance Editor will provide the programme versions that are required across EMEA regions, and will be required to perform basic quality assessment work and make independent edit decisions based on the content in hand or editorial and compliance needs that arise. This role will also be required to log and manage any technical or operational problems and escalate as required.
Please note – this is a Fixed-Term Contract for ~5 / 6 months.
Your Role Accountabilities…
- Edit according to WBD’s technical specifications using Adobe editing systems
- Edit according to the content compliance requirement of all of our EMEA feeds, including regulatory guidelines from the UK, Netherlands, Germany and the Middle East
- Ability to interpret multiple compliance regulations into physical edits, and to be inquisitive and trainable on new requirements as necessary
- Maintain the storytelling standards of the newly created versions
- Maintain QC standards of newly created materials
- Escalate compliance queries or missing materials required to complete a task
- Manage and report any technical problems or errors
- Carry out metadata entry tasks and create editorial compliance reports of the programmes
Qualifications & Experience…
- Experience of working in international media.
- Experience of editing to an advanced broadcast level. Adobe Premiere knowledge is a must.
- Experience or familiarity with Scheduling systems such as WhatsOn and/or IBMS is a plus.
- Some knowledge of broadcast technologies and post-production workflows.
- Experience and understanding of media regulations across EMEA.
- Proficiency in another European language(s) is highly desirable (Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian, French or others)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work calmly under pressure and prioritise in order to comply with tight business and TX critical deadlines
- Superb attention detail, and hand in hand confidence in decision making.
