ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for people who are flexible and enjoy working as part of a small team. You’ll be reliable, enjoy working outdoors and be interested in learning new skills.

ABOUT THE CADETSHIP:

You’ll start out in a hands-on entry level role, spending most days working on the boats with our friendly, qualified team. You’ll learn on-the-job about vessel operations, navigation and maintenance, and will have the opportunity to view marine operations and hydrography technology. You’ll also take on deckhand duties including cleaning, maintenance and other general tasks and will learn to plan work safely.

The Cadetship is a full-time role and the hours are designed to help you manage other commitments: most days, you’ll work from 7am to 3:30pm. Sometimes, you might be needed a bit later but we’ll do all we can to ensure fixed hours on days of the week where you need to be at home by an agreed time.

During the Program, you’ll be supported to complete qualifications allowing you to command a commercial vessel up to 24m long. In addition, you’ll be encouraged to apply for positions as they become available, whether in a similar role or in other areas of our operation. We’re eager to showcase the great things our industry offers and provide opportunities for women to join our organization. As a Cadet you’ll be mentored and supported by our welcoming team to ensure you’re successful and you get any help you might need.

“It’s time to change perceptions about our industry and encourage more women to consider a marine career”
