Job Summary
As a member of the US FP&A team, applies Aflac’s Benefit Realization Framework to strategic and nonstrategic initiatives to proactively identify, quantify, calculate and track the realization of benefits used to justify the return on investment; identifies financial and non-financial benefits; identifies and monitors benefit triggers, dependencies, and initiative execution to ensure planned achievement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Partners with Financial and Analytics teams, as well as business stakeholders, to quantify value, identify assumptions and dependencies, and calculate expected financial benefits; maintains an understanding of initiative expenses; creates benefit models and CBA models to include (as needed) NPV, ROI, and IRR for all initiatives; continually monitors initiative execution; consults with initiative owners to adjust targets, as needed, to align with execution timelines
- Provides insight on streamlining processes or growth opportunities; consults on operational opportunities for improvement in order to optimize potential value
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with business partners; works with impacted business units to gain commitment to financial benefits; produces methods to identify and validate non-financial benefits through direct or indirect metrics/KPIs
- Gathers and analyzes data and reports that pertain to the portfolio and completes reports summarizing activities and trends; reports results to various governing bodies; consults, as needed, in strategic and tactical operational plans to ensure achievement of company and departmental goals
- Works with senior leaders to lead the establishment and maintenance of the Aflac Benefit Realization Framework and benefit activities; provides actionable analysis to drive decision making, accounting for complex inter-dependencies and scope/quality management
- Prepares visualizations of data and conducts meetings with leaders (including executive leadership) to discuss and review findings
- Performs other related duties as required
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree In accounting, business administration, actuarial science or a related discipline
- Six years of professional job-related work experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
- Experience in the insurance industry
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of statistical data analysis and statistical quality control with the ability to convey these to all levels of employees, paired with the ability to prepare statistical studies and trend analysis using internal and external information to demonstrate relevant changes or improvements
- Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement, and minimize expenditure of funds while maintaining and improving quality standards
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management, and internal and external business contacts
- Ability to exhibit and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
- Strong project management and practice development skills
- Knowledge of Agile Methodology preferred
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office software, including intermediate proficiency using Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project or Visio
- Advanced proficiency using Excel is required
