What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Experience with agile project teams with the ability to facilitate cross-functional teams that include the Consumer Markets team, stakeholders, and leaders across the organization.

  • Ability to provide clear and concise collaborative verbal and written communications (e.g., emails, presentations) to effectively communicate plans, status, and expectations while building team unity and culture.

  • Strong aptitude for conceptualizing, communicating, and selling new concepts, while also being able to take an analytic approach to problem solving and strategic development.

  • Demonstrated relationship skills and proven success effectively leading product management processes.

  • Ability to creatively convert customer and competitor feedback (qualitative and quantitative) into products with strong value proposition to increase consumer and producer consideration.

  • Ability to work well in a dynamic group environment and under deadline pressures.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Computer/Information Science, or a related field
  • Six plus years of professional job-related experience
  • At least three plus years' experience in the development of insurance products or relevant agile team / project management

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the process for designing new products and product revisions. Facilitates team design sessions eliciting and documenting user stories and requirements. Identifies opportunities to improve customer value and experience as well as market competitiveness.

  • Manages the process for creating insurance applications, policies, riders, statement of variability, and associated forms. Drafts new product documents or edit existing documents where available. Facilitates team, legal, and compliance reviews, document changes, and iterate toward final approval.

  • Manages the product filing process toward regulatory approval. Facilitates initial filing and objection responses to regulators as required; provides stakeholders product approval status reports.

  • Creates product roadmaps and serves as a subject matter expert to platform teams tasked with bringing approved products to market. Collaborates with training and marketing teams on training and advertising collateral to drive demand.

  • Tracks and assesses sales performance and design assumptions; works with actuary and other stakeholders to consolidate product performance across metrics for sales, persistency, claims, and customer feedback. Consolidates and presents results to the team to help inform future product variations or changes.

  • Conducts industry and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats. Identifies any need for primary research and contributes to the design in collaboration with internal/external research firms as appropriate. Develops business strategies based on analysis and presents to the team, including current product enhancements, new products or new market entries for Consumer Markets.

  • Performs other duties as needed.

Total Rewards

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$160,000
