Worker Designation – This role is designated as a remote role. You will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. Although this role is designated as remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Broad knowledge of managerial financial and budgeting concepts, operating principles, and methodologies applicable to division and client relationship management

  • Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory and industry publication requirements, and standard concepts, practices, and procedures as they relate to the insurance industry

  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management and internal and external business contacts

  • Strong project management, leadership, problem solving and practice development skills

  • Strong personal computer skills with experience in Windows-based software

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree In related field
  • Five years of professional job-related work experience
  • Four years in a management/supervisory/or senior level role

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Operations experience in the insurance industry
  • Experience in a service related area such as claims, client services, sales support, coordinating activities associated with the processing of group enrollments
  • Experience working with external facing vendors/clients
  • TPA and benefits administration technology platform experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily operations of cross-functional business units responsible for supporting the pre-sale and post-sale functions for group insurance members; collaborates on custom cases and guides decisions related to complex set-up options necessary for processing business; ensures that workflow processes facilitate effective and efficient use of corporate resources and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Oversees the pre-sales, group setup, electronic file processing, premium processing, and the support team; answers questions on procedures, policies, instructions, and resolution of more escalated situations; reports on status and progress of work, causes of delays; provides guidance on more complex issues; provides input to management on employees’ performances.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and monitors business technology requirements and enhancement possibilities; recommends viable technological solutions, modifications, and applications; assists with onboarding of new technology partners and preparing appropriate documentation; provides project status reports, cost reports, and other relevant information; maintains necessary controls to ensure compliance with budget expenses, resources, and cost projections; acts as a liaison facilitating communications with various internal departments and developing/maintaining strategic relationships with the partner representative to ensure effective and efficient resolution of a wide variety of processing inquiries and roadblocks.

  • Consults as needed with actuarial and underwriting resources to properly identify risks and calculate profit/loss.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with partner, broker, field force representatives, other internal Aflac departments and customers; responsible for partner relationships through consistent communication; serves as primary point of contact for escalated issues related to business processing.

  • Develops and analyzes reports that pertain to the overall operation of the team; analyzes activities and trends to achieve departmental and company objectives; develops solutions and action plans to ensure a consistent level of service.

  • Coordinates and monitors training efforts to ensure that necessary education tools are provided to employees; identifies and communicates training needs; projects staffing requirements for the business unit; coaching and counseling employees; coordinates employee development and incentive initiatives .

  • Administers the annual department plan and budget; ensures that expenses, production goals and actual production are in line with company expectations and strategies and provides updates to senior management.

  • Coordinates with vendor partners as needed to ensure the delivery of the distinctive, superior, responsive, and consistent service experience.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $193,000.
