The Role

Reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Specialist will assist in coordinating the end to end payroll function (excluding month end journals) as well as general office support to the office located in San Francisco, California. Liaising with our external payroll providers (principally Trinet and ADP) you will support the Global Payroll Manager to ensure the accurate, streamlined and efficient processing of payroll across all Megaport international entities.

In this role you will gain exposure to global payroll functions and have the opportunity to be part of process improvement within the Payroll function.

What you will be doing

  • Preparation and processing of end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll for USA

  • Submit employee sales commissions for processing on quarterly basis

  • Interpret and understand payroll related legislation in USA

  • Prepare, reconcile and lodge pension and 401(k) on fortnightly and monthly basis

  • Assist with salary benchmarking and annual salary review process

  • Assist with managing the delivery of the performance based incentive plan

  • Assist with internal and external payroll queries

  • Maintain employee records, set up new starters and prepare termination requests for USA

  • Develop valuable reporting information for stakeholders to make informed business decisions

  • Manage employee leave related inquiries for USA

  • Runs new employee general office inductions and maintains OH&S administration for office compliance

  • Handle any incoming or outgoing mail, help with overflow of telephone calls

What we are looking for

  • A commitment to providing excellence in customer service

  • Global payroll exposure would be a strong positive

  • At least 5 years recent payroll experience in a fast paced environment

  • Office coordination/administration experience

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail is a must

  • Exposure to ADP and Trinet payroll systems would be advantageous

  • Experience calculating commission and sales incentives would be a plus

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills

  • Driven, motivated and highly organized

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
