Summary: The Sr. Defined Benefit Plan Administrator role involves supporting plan actuaries, handling termination filings, participant benefit certifications, PBGC filings, and 5500 filings. This is a collaborative role with a focus on mentoring and working alongside a junior Administrator.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing benefit calculations for Defined Benefit and in some cases, Define contribution Plans (on an as needed basis)
  • Handling a caseload of 30-60 combination plans (DB and DC)
  • Assisting with plan audits
  • Preparing plan terminations (Mostly Defined Benefit Plan). Preparing final distributions amounts, benefit packages and the requisite government filing forms.
  • Processing Defined Benefit RMD calculations
  • PBGC filings for covered plans
  • Reviewing 5500s for both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans

Requirements:

  • Ten+ years of Qualified Plan Experience
  • Intimately understand how to prepare and calculate a retirement benefit for Defined Benefit Plan Participants
  • Command of how to navigate and interpret a plan document
  • How to value alternate forms of benefits (actuarial equivalence etc.)
  • Command of 415 and 417(e)
  • Experience preparing and filing IRS Form 5300s, 5310s, PBGC Forms 500, 501, MP-10
  • Experience calculating and preparing PBGC Premium filings
  • Experience using the LDE penguin is a plus
  • Experience preparing Plan Valuations, non-discrimination testing: 401(a)(26), 401(a)(4),
  • 410(b)
  • Must be organized, diligent, hard-working and a team player

The base salary range for this position is $63,000 – $88,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
