Summary of Role:

The Senior Employee Benefits Consultant and Client Executive will be responsible for leading a team of employees, developing client strategies, and driving retention and growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with government contractor clients and possess a deep understanding of their unique needs and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple large Health and Group Benefits consulting client engagements
  • Serve as your client’s Senior Health and Group Benefits strategist on all projects, ensuring that health and welfare strategy fits within their overall benefits strategy
  • Finalize and present quality deliverables to clients
  • Drive client retention and growth by delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions.
  • Utilize expertise in government contracting to navigate complex regulatory environments and deliver compliant, competitive benefits offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor and partner in their benefits strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for client initiatives.
  • Cross-sell new lines of business and services to current clients; maximize the penetration of accounts
  • Lead and manage a team of employee benefits professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and changes in the government contracting space to proactively address client needs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in employee benefits consulting, in a consulting or brokerage environment, with a focus on government contractor clients.
  • Strong financial acumen and self-funding experience
  • Solid knowledge of fringe benefits and the Service Contract Act
  • Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related shared services/resources to address client challenges
  • An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills
  • Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization
  • Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health and welfare plan strategy and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work within the Washington DC metro area, with availability for in-person client meetings and consultations.
  • Life & Health License required

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance or a related field preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Life, Accident and Health Insurance License required
  • GBA or CEBS Certification a plus

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $155,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
