Position Summary:

This position is for a college student who can work between 16-20 hours a week. This is for an undefined period and could last 1-2 years. During the first three months of employment, you will be expected to work in our NYC office up to three days a week (flexible schedule). After the initial three-month period, the in-office requirement and option to work remotely will be determined based on your performance and the manager’s discretion.

The Intern position on the Billing Team is an integral part of a 5-person team. This role is central within the organization and is responsible for keeping the insurance carriers up to date with enrollment changes and supporting the Billing Team in their day-to-day activities.

In this position, you will participate in company-wide projects that involve working with different teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, energetic and career-oriented individual to contribute meaningfully to a growing business and gain valuable experience.

This is a long-term, paid internship for immediate placement. We are looking to train and mentor and for a commitment of 1-2 years in this role. Due to intern regulations, you must be a college student during the entire internship (we cannot accept graduates or non-college students); thus, this role is ideal for a rising sophomore or junior who can work in our NYC Wall Street office part-time (16-20 hours per week). We will be accommodating with your class schedule.

Position Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and send employee status listings for terminated employees (of the client) to the different insurance carriers.
  • Download bill, remittance, and other billing files from various clients, via sFTP (NFP, WinSCP, Client Based Servers), Egnyte, SharePoint, Client Secure Sites, or E-mail.
  • Notify the Billing Team every week of remittance file progress and notify them of any files that need urgent review.
  • Generate backups needed by carriers to apply payment to enforce policies.
  • Responsible for updating the internal database with new financial data.
  • Assist the Billing Team in other team projects as necessary.

Education/Experience:

  • A current or rising sophomore or junior student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A degree focus in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics a plus
  • Must be a “currently enrolled” college student during the entire internship. [We cannot accept graduates or non-college students]
  • Must be able to work part-time and from our NYC office as required

The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographical location of the hire.
