We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Engineer – Mechanical to join us in our Engineering and Planning team in Brisbane, QLD on 14 month Max Term Contract.

Reporting to the Lead Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in offering technical support, under general supervision, for the design and engineering services of mechanical and piping engineering projects, including fixed and mobile plants, piping systems, pumps, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance of all mechanical and pipeline engineering projects with statutory, regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Guaranteeing that pipeline engineering projects are completed within the specified time frame and budget.
  • Developing both preliminary and detailed designs for mechanical and pipeline engineering projects while ensuring alignment with the project scope, including all conditions and parameters.
  • Preparing documentation related to standards, procedures, safe working practices, and monitoring protocols for work on or around pipeline engineering projects.
  • Collaborating with engineers and draftspersons from other departments to ensure pipeline project objectives are achieved.
  • Supporting pipeline engineering and infrastructure commissioning activities.
  • Assisting in the creation of the pipeline engineering budget and addressing any discrepancies from the planned budget.

Your background

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, including pipeline engineering, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Ability to manage pipeline engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Proven experience in developing project scopes of work.
  • Skilled in preparing documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices, and monitoring protocols related to pipeline engineering projects.
  • Effective collaboration skills for liaising with engineers and draftspersons from other departments to achieve pipeline project objectives.
  • Capable of supporting mechanical engineering tasks within project frameworks.
